Only if you want to! Please do what fits in your family’s weekend schedule. Everyone can come whenever during 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM to participate. Parents need to remain on campus to supervise their own children.

Please have your student wear their new Walkathon t-shirt, bring sunscreen and a water bottle. You are also welcome to bring chairs, blankets, etc. to set up on the lawn as a resting area. We will also have a canopy set up near the track where students can put their water bottle and rest. The theme is Color Run again so we also recommend bringing towels and to wear old shoes/shorts.

Yes! There will be a pizza food truck, a coffee cart, and Kona Ice. We will also have a concession stand with some basic items like water, juice, soda, chips, etc. And of course the "Pocket People" will be out and about during the Walkathon selling candy treats. We will not be using a ticket system this year so PLEASE BRING CASH!

If you forget cash, we will sell tickets via venmo or paypal transactions ($10 minimum). Tickets can then be used as ‘cash’. 1 ticket = $1

Parent volunteers are still needed with set-up, clean-up, field activities and more: VOLUNTEER SIGN UP HERE. 

Students should walk as many laps as they are comfortable with. Suggested maximum number of laps by grade: 20 for Kinder, 25 for 1st grade, 30 for 2nd grade, 35 for 3rd grade, 40 for 4th grade, 45 for 5th grade and 50 for 6th grade.

Yes! We will give out Covington Walkathon Awards with a special Walkathon assembly (in the next couple of weeks)! Students must participate in the Walkathon AND return their lap cards in order to be considered to win an award. Awards will be given for:

• 75% All School Participation. When 75% of the school participates in the Walkathon, all students get an extra afternoon recess. 

• Top Grade Participating. The grade who has the most participants in the Walkathon earns a popsicle party. 

• Top Class for Total Laps (1 class per grade level). The class who walks the most laps per grade will also earn a popsicle party. 

• Top Walker (1 student per grade level). The student who walks the most laps per grade will have a special "Principal's Lunch" with Mr. Armstrong.

• Top Class Money Raised (1 class per grade level). The class who raises the most money per grade - either through flat donations or donation per laps - earns a pizza party.

You must participate in the Walkathon AND return your lap card in order to be considered to win an award.  

These are not officially due until after the Walkathon, however we’ll take any flat donations now if you have them. Pledged donations per laps achieved will be tabulated after the event with Sponsor Card forms returned to all students to complete collections. All donations can be paid online.

Our amazing teachers generously donate their time outside of the classroom to host grade level "priceless parties" for their respective students. Families can purchase tickets for their student to attend with costs going to cover the party and to support Covington. Students can only sign-up for the party at their grade level and parties will take place during this school year. Sign-ups for these parties will be at the Walkathon first before being open to those not in attendance AND some parties do have limited spots so be sure to sign-up right away! 

Priceless Party line-up will be announced soon! Price per ticket varies from $40-60 each, depending on age & location.
